E CARE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH INSTITUTE

Too many therapists freeze when working with clients from different backgrounds. They're afraid of saying the wrong thing, not knowing enough about the client's culture, or unintentionally offending someone. So they hold back, refer out, or feel like a fraud in session. This 6-hour training gives you practical strategies to work confidently with any client from any culture without needing to become an expert on every background. Learn to use the DSM-5 Cultural Formulation Interview to assess cultural influences on diagnosis, recognize and reduce your own biases, build meaningful rapport across cultural differences, and recover when you've made an unintentional cultural misstep. Beyond ethnicity, you'll also explore issues of age, gender, sexuality, religion, acculturation, and social justice and strengthen your own cultural self-awareness in the process. Designed for licensed mental health professionals who want to stop freezing with diverse clients and start counseling with confidence across cultures.

Breaking Maladaptive Patterns Masterclass: Schema Therapy for Chronic Emotional & Relational Problems

E CARE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH INSTITUTE

Some clients have been in therapy for years. They understand their patterns. They can name their triggers. They have plenty of insight. And yet nothing changes. The same relationships. The same self-sabotage. The same cycles. Over and over. These are the clients traditional approaches weren't built for. Schema Therapy was. This 6-hour training introduces you to Schema Therapy an integrative approach developed by Dr. Jeffrey Young that combines cognitive-behavioral therapy, attachment theory, psychodynamic concepts, and emotion-focused techniques. Learn how to assess and conceptualize difficult cases in Schema terms, identify the maladaptive patterns driving your client's problems, and apply powerful techniques like Imagery Rescripting, Mode Dialogues, and Empathic Confrontation to create lasting change. You'll also learn how to manage your own schemas when difficult clients trigger you in session. Designed for licensed mental health professionals working with personality disorders, chronic relational problems, eating disorders, treatment-resistant anxiety and depression, and clients who've gained insight but can't seem to change.

Enhanced Effectiveness in Social Security Disability Report Writing for Children's Mental Health

ACHIEVE CE - EDUCATION SERVICES

Healthcare providers across disciplines regularly treat children whose psychiatric conditions severely limit functioning, yet more than half of initial SSI/SSD applications citing mental disorders are denied because clinical records fail to translate findings into the Social Security Administration's language of functional impairment. This course addresses that gap by converting legal standards into a step-by-step documentation framework. Grounded in recent peer-reviewed research and authoritative policy guidance, this training supplies annotated exemplars, decision-grade checklists, and interactive case analyses. This activity develops competence in Patient Care and Systems-Based Practice through SSA-aligned documentation and interdisciplinary coordination. The goal is to foster defensible, high-impact reports capable of withstanding adjudicative scrutiny. Emphasis on ethical, culturally responsive communication further equips healthcare teams to advocate effectively for vulnerable pediatric populations while streamlining claim processing.

Inside The Dark Minds of Anti-Socials and Psychopaths: The Dangerous Predators and Career Criminals Who Walk Among Us

INSTITUTE FOR NATURAL RESOURCES

This webinar is presented to educate healthcare and mental healthcare clinicians on the characteristics of individuals with criminal behavior called psychopaths who live among us and can pose significant threats to the professional and private lives of health and mental health professionals. Psychopaths are social predators with no conscience or remorse who charm, manipulate, and ruthlessly plow their way through life, leaving behind them a broad trail of broken hearts, shattered expectations, and empty wallets. Participants will learn how to identify the psychopathic predator career criminals who inflict tremendous damage to others but are often undetected and seen as being "normal" and "charming." Several psychopaths will be described along with their common personality-based core beliefs, thinking patterns, emotional processing, and antisocial behaviors that characterize the Psychopathic Personality. Participants will also learn how to discriminate psychopaths from sociopaths and how these individuals differ from many who have a diagnosis of Antisocial Personality Disorder. Dr. Howard will explain why psychopathic criminals are not legally insane and why they do not qualify to be found not guilty by reason of insanity in criminal courts when they commit crimes. The major theoretical models of psychopathy will be presented along with the tests that can identify psychopaths. Participants will learn the differences between psychopathic criminal offenders and non-criminal individuals with some psychopathic traits who may become successful in some areas of life. Attendees will also learn about the effectiveness of rehabilitating psychopaths and which treatment models have the greatest success. The relationship of psychopathy to some rare and extreme levels of interpersonal violent behavior such as mass/school/spree shootings and serial murders will be explained. Finally, at the conclusion of the program, there will be an optional presentation (without CE) describing case histories of some rare individuals who have become psychopathic serial killers for those who desire to attend.

Similarly, the ethics and legal imperatives regarding supervision both encompass psychotherapy issues and go beyond them. Because supervision is a triadic rather than a dyadic relationship, the supervisor must always attend to the need for balance between the counseling needs of clients and the training needs of the counselor. This course focuses on legal and ethical issues of supervision with emphasis on the triadic relationship.
