It is estimated there are nearly 2.7 million gamers worldwide-some of whom are also individuals who commit sexual offenses. Sexual innuendo, online sexual interactions, and direct conversations about sexuality between adults and children are common in the gaming world. Understanding "gamer culture" and how it may be involved in grooming behavior and the commission of sexual offense behavior is critical for evaluators, treatment providers, and probation. Using lecture and demonstration, this presentation will illustrate the risks gaming may pose for both juveniles and individuals at risk of engaging in sexual offense behavior. Prevention strategies and the positive aspects of gaming will also be discussed. The presentation will offer information related to professionals who evaluate, treat, and/or supervise both juveniles and adults. Objectives: In this workshop, participants will: Learn about the "gamer" culture and its relationship to sexual offense behavior. Learn how gamers can use in-game sexualized behaviors to groom children. MDM COUNSELING AND MEDIATION SERVICES

Every third biennium, a qualified supervisor shall obtain 4 hours of supervisory training continuing education. These hours shall count toward satisfaction of the continuing education hours required for license renewal for the biennium in which the hours are taken. This course meets the CE requirement. The focus of this course will be a review of the major models of supervision; further assessment of the supervisor's personal model of supervision; review of existing models of supervision and preferred styles of therapy; review of the co-evolving dynamics of therapist-client and supervisor-therapist-client relationships; exploration distinctive issues that arise in supervision;review of the contextual variables including culture, gender, ethnicity, power and economics; review of the ethical, legal and regulatory issues of supervision and the Florida laws and board rules governing interns and supervision, as well as, the role of evaluation in supervision.

Abstract: The U.S. has witnessed an unprecedented rise in targeted violence, or planned attacks, involving schools, businesses, government institutions, and faith centers, leaving many to question how to prevent such tragedies. Research studying averted and perpetrated attacks has revealed key findings about attackers, including that many individuals had contact with the legal and mental health systems beforehand. This key finding highlights why clinicians, case managers, supervision officers, and judicial officials need to be aware of potential attack warning signs, as they are integral to preventing such violence. This presentation will review insights about attackers, the planning that precedes such violence, indicators suggesting an imminent attack, and ways to thwart such violence. Attendees will learn about the most common psychological issues exhibited by attackers as well as the frequently cited motivations for perpetrators. Other nuances can further impact a relationship when one same-sex partner transitions. This workshop will deliver research-backed resources clinicians can incorporate into their practice that guides LGBTQ plus, couples through the challenges and strengthen their relationships.

Obesity continues to increase in prevalence nationwide, resulting in the worsening of other disease states, such as heart failure, diabetes, and cardiovascular events. Studies have shown that weight reduction can lead to fewer cardiovascular events and decrease the risk of complications associated with co-morbid conditions. Over the past 3 years, there has been progress in the use of medications for assisting patients in losing weight. However, the guidelines have lagged in adding these agents and where they may fit in therapy. Because of this, there are many healthcare professionals that do not realize the options for weight loss, when to utilize them, and most importantly, how they should be used as an adjunct to non-pharmacologic management strategies. This activity reviews all the pharmacologic options in the US market that aid patients in losing weight. It will discuss where medications may fit in therapy, who would benefit from each medication based on a patient-centered care approach. It will also discuss the risks associated with the use. In addition, non-pharmacologic options and their roles in a holistic care plan for weight loss will be included.

The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) recently published new guidelines on the management of Lyme disease in 2021, which is the first time these guidelines have been updated since 2006. As such, there are several updates and knowledge gaps that healthcare professionals should be aware of to properly manage and prevent tick-borne infections that are rapidly increasing in the United States. This activity reviews the epidemiology of various ticks and tick-borne infections including Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, ehrlichiosis, babesiosis, Powassan virus, Borrelia miyamotoi disease, and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. The clinical presentation, diagnosis, and treatment will also be described, along with the updated guidelines on Lyme Disease, as released by the IDSA.

This 1-hour credit course is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education and approved by the Florida Board of Pharmacy. Our entire country, with 95% of states creating legislation related to Marijuana, is evolving its Marijuana supply chain via the recreational and "medical" formulations. Yet, we as healthcare professionals are left with barely any education on these substances. More education is needed in order to actually provide tangible life-saving, or at least life-improving, patient education. Marijuana has been around for centuries, and has never received more lime light than in recent years in respect to 95% of our country's states enacting legislation regarding "recreational" and/or "medical" marijuana, even though it remains a Federal DEA Controlled Substance Class One agent. So how does that work in the criminal field? Better yet, how do we as healthcare professionals discuss such substances with our patients? We will discuss all things Cannabis, including botany concepts, legal concepts, and, of course, pharmacological concerns that every healthcare professional absolutely needs to know in order to provide "high" quality patient care.

Clinicians, especially pharmacists, are highly trained to manage the complex medication regimens of patients with Parkinson's disease. Adequate attention is required in managing Parkinson's medications and side effects. Otherwise, symptoms can become poorly controlled, and the patient's condition can deteriorate easily. Accordingly, clinicians' knowledge needs to be up-to-date on the recent discoveries and clinical guidelines in the management of Parkinson's disease. This activity will provide a refresher on the pathophysiology of Parkinson's disease and help them understand and identify the biological targets for drug intervention. It will also discuss the different classes of antiparkinson's drugs, their clinical use, and their adverse effects.
